World Cup Stadium Name & Nickname: Arena Pantanal

Stadium Capacity: 42,968 spectators;

Given that the stadium in Cuiaba set to host matches at the 2014 FIFA World Cup neighbours the flora- and fauna-rich region that is the Pantanal, it is no surprise that sustainability has been a central theme of the construction and maintenance of the new arena from the project’s very beginning.

This sustainable approach has been applied to every detail along the way, with the wood used in the construction coming from certified sources and the waste and rubbish produced being recycled – thus enabling them to be reused within the building project and its access routes. The site’s air and soil quality is also constantly monitored, all of which means the stadium’s nickname of ‘O Verdão’ (The Big Green) is particularly appropriate.

Especially built for Brazil 2014 – when it will host four matches – the Arena Pantanal will boast a capacity of 42,968 and will occupy the site where the Estadio Jose Fragelli used to be. This multi-purpose stadium will have an adaptable structure, which can be reduced in size once Brazil 2014 is over. The covered arena is thus an ideal setting to host a variety of events such as shows, exhibitions and trade fairs.

Mato Grosso is a multifaceted culture , traditional food , traditional dances, regional music and beautiful views. The Pantanal is a region rich in natural beauty, with an ecosystem of envy. But Mato Grosso society itself is not interested in knowing more deeply the beauty of the state. So much so that the Historical Museum of Mato Grosso , for more than 24 years in the capital does not get many visitors , according to museum monitors Natalia Rocha. She believes that the place is little known due to lack of interest of people in learning the basics of the state where they live. Previously cultural heritage spread across several municipalities in Mato Grosso. He decided to join this collection and center in Cuiabá. On 20 August 1987 the Historical Museum of Mato Grosso, originally installed in the old building of the Palace of Education. Many of the works come from donations , mostly portraits and sculptures of Marechal Rondon . “The goal of the collection is to show the culture, trying to convey something of the history of Mato Grosso to the population, which, unfortunately , does not seek to be aware of the details of our culture,” says the monitors . Institution is most sought by tourists who come to Cuiabá. Visit the average is between 50 and 60 people per day. Due to lack of space, the collection file is stored too long and ended up suffering a number of failures . perished Some parts were broken or mold created to be stacked inside . Files that were part of the first film in Cuiabá , Cinema Bandeirantes , were donated to the collection in the municipality of Vila Bela Trinity. Today the museum depends on the support of the state government and the city of Cuiaba to continue functioning as spending on energy and other costs. Each of the rooms has a little history of the state. Period Paraguayan fighting and the arrival of Rodrigo Cezar de Manezes in Cuiabá , to cite one example, is represented in the first quarter , with paintings and models. A history of the first capital of Mato Grosso , Vila Bela Holy Trinity, and the political and social events of the time are portrayed in the paintings and sculptures on the walls.
